Title: Support Worker Volunteer

Job Summary:        To provide support work to IRIE Mind clients.

Line Manager: Juana Silva – Deputy Manager of Clinical Services

 

Hours: The Service is open Mon-Fri 10-5pm. The volunteer would need to commit to a minimum of 4 hours 2 days a week.

 

Main Duties:

To help in the daily running of the service by:

1) Maintaining a client register;

2) Providing one to one practical and emotional support to clients as needed;

3)  To encourage and support service users to make full use of available community resources

4) Co-facilitate therapeutic groups and activities.

 

 

General Duties:

1)  To engage with service users in a positive manner by being supportive and empathetic.

2)  To cover the work of colleagues during periods of planned and unplanned absences as appropriate

3) To report any daily concerns to line manager.

4) To attend monthly supervision with line manager.

5) In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of your own health and safety at work and of any clients/visitors you are working with. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Officers.

6) Be self-servicing administratively including proficiency in the use MS Word, MS Excel and the use of email systems, or any other such software or IT systems as maybe required in connection with fulfilling any of the above tasks

 

7) Attend supervision and appropriate internal and external training courses as approved by the Head of Psychological Therapies

8) Any other relevant duties as requested by your line manager or other seniors at IRIE Mind.

9) Have the physical and mental capacity to carry out all the above within stipulated times.
