Title: I.T. Volunteer

Line Manager:         Juana Silva – Deputy Manager of Clinical Services

Hours per week:    Minimum of three hours a day twice a week.

 Job Summary:        To provide IT support to the IRIE Mind Service Users and Team.

Main Duties:

  • To run a minimum two hour sessions twice a week teaching basic computer skills. Lessons should be tailored to service user’s individual needs. For example one service user might want to do training on Word whilst another may want to learn how to access the internet.
  • To ensure the computers are kept up to date with anti-virus protection and that no program/files are being downloaded; and no inappropriate material is being accessed.
  • To keep the materials safe, as in head phones/microphones and that it is locked safely at the end of the class.
  • To keep record of attendance and to keep a client sheet for each student reporting the support given.
  • To engage with service users in a positive manner by encouraging them to learn and empowering them.
  • To report any daily concerns to line manager.

General Duties

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of your own health and safety at work and of any clients/visitors you are working with. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Officers.   

  1. Be self-servicing administratively, including proficiency in the use MS Word, MS Excel and the use of email systems, or any other such software or IT systems as maybe required in connection with fulfilling any of the above tasks
  2. Attend supervision and appropriate internal and external training courses as approved by the Head of Psychological Therapies.
  3. Any other relevant duties as requested by your line manager , or other seniors at IRIE Mind
  4. Have the physical and mental capacity to carry out all the above within stipulated times.
