Title: Complementary Therapies Volunteer

Line Manager: Juana Silva – Deputy Manager of Clinical Services

Hours per week: ½ a day per week

Job Summary: To offer aromatherapy, reflexology and/or Indian head massage for IRIE Mind service users. We are looking for volunteers who are perhaps still training and need the experience of working in a mental health setting with vulnerable adults.

Main Duties:

• To offer a 20-30 min treatment sessions in a half day (morning or afternoon depending on availability)
• To engage with service users in a positive manner by offering them a relaxing effective treatment.
• To keep record of attendance and outcomes.
• To report any daily concerns to line manager.

General Duties

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of your own health and safety at work and of any clients/visitors you are working with. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Officers.   

1. Be self-servicing administratively, including proficiency in the use MS Word, MS Excel and the use of email systems, or any other such software or IT systems as maybe required in connection with fulfilling any of the above tasks
2. Attend supervision and appropriate internal and external training courses as approved by the Head of Psychological Therapies.
3. Any other relevant duties as requested by your line manager , or other seniors at IRIE Mind
4. Have the physical and mental capacity to carry out all the above within stipulated times.
