Café Volunteer Job Description

Title: Cafe Volunteer

Line Manager: Juana Silva – Deputy Manager of Clinical Services

Hours: The Café is open Mon-Fri 10-5pm. The volunteer would need to commit to a minimum of 4 hours 2 days a week.

Main Duties:

• To help in the daily running of the café/kitchen by:
• Keeping a client register;
• Collecting payment from clients for teas and/or lunch;
• Serving teas/coffees and lunch.
• To prepare coffee machine and urn in the morning and make sure there are cups/sugar/spoons ready to serve clients.
• To take register of clients coming into the building and café area.
• To be responsible for cash handling and cash till.
• To engage with service users in a positive manner by being supportive and empathetic.
• To report any daily concerns to line manager.

 General Duties

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of your own health and safety at work and of any clients/visitors you are working with. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Officers.   

• Be self-servicing administratively, including proficiency in the use MS Word, MS Excel and the use of email systems, or any other such software or IT systems as maybe required in connection with fulfilling any of the above tasks
• Attend supervision and appropriate internal and external training courses as approved by the Head of Psychological Therapies.
• Any other relevant duties as requested by your line manager , or other seniors at IRIE Mind
• Have the physical and mental capacity to carry out all the above within stipulated times.
