Registered Care Home - Clapton Common

Who are we?

Clapton Common is a high support registered care home managed by City and Hackney MIND and aims to meet the housing, social and emotional needs of people who have enduring mental health needs.

What do we do?

Clapton Common provides permanent accommodation for eleven residents. The project is for both male and female residents.

We seek to promote residents independence, with a strong commitment to enabling residents to make appropriate choices. Staff involvement with residents is sensitive and supportive, and there is also a growing recognition of the changing needs of some residents, as they grow older.

Every resident will have a care plan and are fully involved in developing this. We always encourage and support all our residents in achieving a level of independence that they feel comfortable with.

Staff will, if needed:

  • liaise on a resident's behalf with statutory agencies
  • liaise with the DWP and assist with benefits
  • attend reviews with consultants, GP's

Residents are consulted with regard to decisions about communal matters in the home, and we complete a survey each year to ensure that we are continuing to provide an excellent service.

Additionally residents meet regularly with a member of City and Hackney Mind's Board of Trustees to enable them to feedback on how the project is doing, and how we are doing as an organisation.

The philosophy of care, allied with a well-trained and professional staff group result in the home being able to provide high standards of care in line with its aims and objectives.

Staff availability

We provide 24-hour cover with a staff member sleeping in the building after 10pm.

How do you get a place?

We advertise when we have vacancies, and prospective residents will need to complete a referral form, available on request from the Project Manager.
