IT Training - Beginners

Introduction to Computing: This course is for complete beginners

The course aims to:

  • Introduce students to standard computer hardware and the current windows operating system so that they can operate IT equipment correctly and safely.
  • Introduce students to a range of commonly used software applications so that they can gain a sense of what different tasks IT equipment can be used for.
  • Introduce students to managing documents and data in a variety of applications.
  • Begin developing the students' ability to enter and manipulate data accurately.
  • Begin developing the students' skills and knowledge in contexts that are relevant to employment situations.
  • Encourage progression by assisting in the development of skills and knowledge that learners will need to undertake further study (specifically OCR CLAIT New CLAIT).
