Counselling Programme

City and Hackney Mind offers a range of counselling and psychotherapy services. There is currently a waiting period of 2 to 4 weeks for counselling sessions. Clients are not contacted immediately but will be notified in writing as soon as an appointment becomes available.

Due to the high demand for counselling at City and Hackney Mind the waiting list is now closed until further notice, except to clients who fall within the Trauma & Refugee Project, and also the Sure Start Project (people with dependent children of 5 years or younger)

Receipt of the Trauma and Refugee and Sure Start Referrals will be passed to the relevant section for reply within 10 working days.

Clients are advised to contact their GP in the first instance for assistance and or any of the following services in the meantime:

Psychiatric Emergency Clinic, Homerton Hospital East Wing daily between 9 am and 4.30 pm Phone 020 8510 8093 Islington Mind

Crisis Support provide a Crisis Line, which is open six days a week: Monday to Saturday (including Bank Holidays) 5 pm to 10 pm (last calls taken at 9:45 pm. 0845 123 23 73 The helpline is available 1pm to 11 pm every day
