• Help to express your emotional feelings. This will enable you to reduce or avoid the stresses that cause emotional and mental distress in the future.
• Help to understand yourself better and learn skills that will help you take responsibility for your own life, choices and decisions.
• Support to develop your confidence and self-esteem.

The aim of the Counselling and Psychotherapy service is to:

• Provide a service that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. We provide a Turkish service and a limited service is provided in the following languages: French, Kurdish, Spanish, Turkish and Chinese.
• Enable clients experiencing emotional distress to gain insight understand the cause of the distress and to develop coping skills.

Making a Referral

You can refer yourself to the service. Otherwise we accept referrals from GP's, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Probation Officers and other Statutory Agencies and Voluntary Organisations.

All referred clients will be offered an initial consultation to assess and examine the main issues concerning them.

The initial consultation will enable us to establish the most appropriate counselling or psychotherapy service to offer. Or help us to recommend another more appropriate service.
