Advocacy Services

Mental Health Advocates support service users to make informed decisions and get their views heard by providing information and representation. Our Advocacy Project provides a service to mental health service users in the borough of Hackney and the City. The service supports inpatients at City and Hackney Centre for Mental Health and at the Centre for Forensic Mental Health. We also provide a limited community service through our Volunteer Peer Advocates.

Project Aims

• To promote self advocacy
• To enable service users to express their views
• To represent the views of service users where necessary
• To support service users to access effective care provision
• To provide information e.g. Mental Health act, legal rights etc
• To provide an independent, confidential and free service
